In a proactive move to tackle pressing infrastructure issues, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) State President, Mr. Ajoy Bairagi, Mr. Vishal Jolly, National Executive Member of BJP, and Mr. Sankar Mondal, Zilla Parishad Member of Harinagar, met with Mr. Tej Bahadur, Chief Engineer of the Andaman Public Works Department (APWD). The leaders aimed to seek immediate redressal for significant concerns related to the Public Works Department (PWD).
During the meeting, the delegation highlighted the urgent need for improvements to the GI Pipeline network, emphasizing the replacement of old and rusted GI pipelines with new ones. Additionally, they stressed the necessity of laying new branches in key areas such as Parangara Village and Kishorinagar Village of Diglipur to enhance the overall infrastructure and ensure the efficient delivery of public services.
A crucial matter discussed during the meeting was the construction of an eco-friendly 200-meter road from the Net Mending Shed to the HDPE Jetty. This jetty serves as the primary fish landing point for villagers in Talbagan and Kishorinagar, making it an essential aspect of the local economy. The BJP leaders sought assurance that the proposed road construction would be executed promptly to facilitate smoother connectivity and accessibility to the jetty.
Addressing other significant concerns, the leaders brought up the necessity for the construction of an RCC bridge and village road in Basantipur Village. Additionally, they advocated for the blacktopping of the village road from the graveyard in Harinagar 6 and the village road in Swadesh Nagar Panchayat that connects to the Anganwadi School at Shantipur Ward No 1.
In response to these concerns, Mr. Tej Bahadur, Chief Engineer of APWD, assured the BJP delegation of a positive and timely resolution to the highlighted issues.
