Rangat Police Successfully Dismantles Illicit Liquor Operation in Kalsi Jungle

In a rapid and effective operation, Rangat Police achieved a significant breakthrough by dismantling an illicit liquor manufacturing operation hidden deep within the Kalsi jungle at Bakultala. The operation, conducted on February 4, 2024, was led by ASI Muthu, In-Charge of PS Rangat, who acted promptly on a credible tip.

Forming a specialised team, ASI Muthu enlisted the expertise of PC/982 Pranab Halder and PC/1696 K. Sameer. The proactive team successfully seized a substantial 120 litres of illicit liquor, along with containers, various utensils, and timber materials used in the production process. These clandestine materials were strategically concealed within the dense foliage of Kalsi, Bakultala.

Under the vigilant supervision of Mr. Rahul L. Nair, IPS, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Rangat, and the overall direction and supervision of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, N&M Andaman District, the operation dealt a significant blow to the illegal liquor manufacturing network.

All confiscated items were promptly destroyed on-site, sending a clear message of zero tolerance for such illicit activities. The success of the operation highlights the commitment of the Rangat Police in curbing illegal operations that pose a threat to public safety.
