In a pioneering move, the Andaman and Nicobar Police have unveiled a groundbreaking initiative aimed at tackling the growing spectre of cyber threats through a unified and collaborative strategy. Expressing a steadfast commitment to fostering a resilient environment against cybercrimes, the police force is extending an invitation to the residents of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands to actively engage as Cyber Volunteers.

In an era where the interconnectedness of the digital world presents a myriad of challenges, cyber threats have emerged as a significant risk to individuals, businesses, and national security. Recognising the gravity of the situation, the Andaman and Nicobar Police are initiating a comprehensive program that relies on collective efforts to establish a united front against the escalating menace of cybercrime.

The success of this ambitious initiative hinges on the active involvement of the community, and the A&N Police is keen on fostering a collaborative approach to prevention and mitigation. Residents are encouraged to step forward and contribute to this vital mission by becoming Cyber Volunteers, playing a pivotal role in preventing, detecting, and mitigating cybercrimes within their communities.

The police force is specifically seeking individuals to serve in key roles as Unlawful Content Flaggers and Cyber Awareness Promoters. Unlawful Content Flaggers will play a crucial role in identifying and reporting illicit online content, thereby safeguarding the digital environment. Concurrently, Cyber Awareness Promoters will take on the responsibility of raising awareness about cybersecurity best practices, empowering fellow citizens to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly.

Forms for those interested in joining this noble cause are available at the nearest Police Station and Cyber Crime Police Station. The Andaman and Nicobar Police are optimistic that through the active participation of the community, they can construct a safer and more resilient digital ecosystem not only for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands but also beyond.

The deadline for the submission of forms is set for February 29, 2024. Join the Andaman and Nicobar Police in their mission to create a safer cyberspace for all.
