The Andaman & Nicobar Police, in collaboration with MGM Health Care, Chennai, conducted a highly successful Free Health Screening Camp for police personnel and their families at the Police Lines, Drill Hall, South Andaman, on September 23, 2023. This initiative underscores the unwavering commitment of the Armed Police Unit to the well-being and health of the community, emphasizing their dedication to fostering a healthier society.
The Free Health Camp was tailored specifically to cater to the healthcare needs of police personnel and their families while simultaneously promoting health awareness within the community. Approximately 500 police personnel and their families actively participated in the event, benefiting from the opportunity to interact with healthcare experts and gain valuable insights into maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
A team of seasoned healthcare professionals, including Dr. Karunakaran S, Director and Senior Consultant in the Department of Spine Surgery, Dr. Vijaya Kumar Sohanlal, Senior Consultant in Orthopaedics, and Dr. Cherin Josi Champannoor, Consultant in the Department of Nephrology, worked collaboratively to provide comprehensive medical services to the participants. These dedicated healthcare experts generously volunteered their time and expertise, contributing significantly to the event’s success.
The A&N Police Department expressed its heartfelt appreciation to all the healthcare professionals, volunteers, and sponsors who made this event possible. Their steadfast support mirrors the shared commitment to community health and well-being.
The coordination of this remarkable event was overseen by Inspector Solomon Samuel, RI Police Lines, Ms. Yogita Sharma, DANIPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police (APU), and Dr. Ridhima Seth, DANIPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police (ACU), under the overall supervision of Ms. Niharika Bhatt, IPS, Superintendent of Police (APU).
