In a forward-looking move towards modernising law enforcement and improving service delivery, the Andaman & Nicobar Police has embraced the Integrated Government Online Training (iGOT) Karmayogi Bharat Portal, an initiative of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India.

The Andaman and Nicobar Police, known for its commitment to leveraging modern technology and innovative solutions, has onboarded nearly all its police personnel onto the iGOT Karmayogi portal. This initiative signifies the force’s dedication to empower its officers and personnel with the latest skills and knowledge required for citizen-centric policing in the present and the future. The force firmly believes that investing in the capacity building of its officers and personnel is essential for maintaining a safe and secure environment in the islands.

The iGOT Karmayogi Portal stands as a pioneering digital platform designed to offer continuous learning and development opportunities to government employees across the nation. Currently, the portal hosts a total of 685 courses for government employees, with course content provided by domain experts, esteemed educational institutes, and government organisations such as the Indian School of Business, Ministry of Power, Indian Institute of Public Administration, IIM Bangalore, Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education, Border Road Organisation, Department of Rural Development, Department of Telecommunications, Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre-I4C, Quality Council of India, among others. The portal’s course offerings continue to expand regularly for the benefit of learners.

The integration of iGOT Karmayogi into the Andaman & Nicobar Police training ecosystem aligns perfectly with the force’s mission to uphold the law, protect the community, and create a safer future for all residents. By adopting the services and facilities of the portal, the police force is taking a significant step towards enhancing the competencies of its workforce, ensuring they are well-prepared to serve the community effectively.

The successful integration of iGOT Karmayogi into the training module has already seen training sessions conducted by the Police Training School (PTS) in Prothrapur for police personnel of the Andaman & Nicobar Police. These sessions aim to familiarize them with the iGOT Karmayogi portal, equipping them with the tools and knowledge necessary to stay at the forefront of modern law enforcement practices.

This initiative underscores the Andaman & Nicobar Police’s dedication to staying at the cutting edge of law enforcement and its commitment to delivering top-tier service to the community it serves.
