Keeping its commitment of zero tolerance against illegal activities, the staff of PS Central Crime Station conducted raid in Dignabad area and arrested 05 gamblers.
On 10/11/2020 Inspr. Mahesh Kr. Yadav, SHO, PS Central Crime Station received credible information regarding Gambling in Dignabad Seashore. Immediately, a team comprising SI Santosh R. Shenoy, ASI Vijay Shankar, Head Constable Upender Singh, Constable Hari Krishna Yadav, G. Ravi and P. K. Mondal was formed and sent to Dignabad Seashore for conducting raid. The raiding team rushed to the spot and encircled the area and the suspected persons. All the 05 Gamblers were arrested and Rs. 35,480/- in cash was recovered from their possession with board money of Rs. 33,700/. The accused were identified as D. Rajesh R/o Phonix Bay, P. Palaniappan R/o Phoenix Bay, B. Muniyaswamy R/o Shadipur, M. Arun R/o Buniyadabad, K. Krishna Rao R/o Dairy Farm Fisheries Colony. A case under section 5/7 of A & N Gambling Regulation 1951 was registered at PS CCS. The raid was conducted under the command of Shri Jagdev Singh Yadav, DANIPS, Dy.SP(CID) and under overall supervision of Shri Anant Mittal, IPS, SP(CID).
The Andaman & Nicobar Police is taking all possible steps in making these islands free from anti-social activities and is keeping strict vigil to stop gambling, smuggling and proliferation of narcotics substances in these Islands.
