South Andaman Police Conducts Raid & Recovers Huge Quantity of Illegally Stored Liquor

An extensive drive against bootlegging has been launched in connection with the forthcoming Municipal and Panchayat Election-2022.  South Andaman Police achieved major success in the jurisdiction of Police Station Aberdeen. 

On 23-02-2022, on a tip-off, a raiding team was constituted at Police Station Aberdeen, comprising of HC/Sunil, PCs S.N. Rao, Sonu Yadav, Sandeep Lakra, Ashish Kr. Singh, D. Shiv Kumar and G. Chitra conducted a raid in the rented room of one V. Kannan R/o Nayagaon and recovered a total of 287 bottles comprising of 109 Nos. 750 ml IMFL bottles, 06 Nos. 375 ml IMFL bottles and 172 Nos. 180 ml IMFL bottles of different brands, which were found to be illegally stored by the alleged person. The recovered 287 Nos. IMFL bottles have been seized and the accused person has been arrested under A&N Excise Regulation.

The raid was conducted under the supervision of Insp. K. Joju, SHO PS Aberdeen and under the guidance of Sh. Saurabh Chandra, DANIPS, SDPO, South Andaman. 

South Andaman District Police is taking all possible steps to conduct a free and fair election and to make the district free from bootlegging and other anti-social activities. 

General Public has been requested to pass on credible information on narcotics substance, illegal sale of liquor, gambling or any other illegal activity on the telephone numbers: 100,112 and 03192-233077. The identity of the informer will be kept secret.
