Mr. Vichitra Veer, SP, N&M Andaman visited the police guard deployed at LOP East Island and Burma (Karen) Nallah ahead of the rainy reason. During his visit, he reviewed the infrastructural setup and interacted with the staff to get their feedback about how to make the functioning of LOPs more effective.
It is important to mention that LOP East Island is the northern most deployment in the Islands and is strategically very important. The deployment at Burma (Karen) Nallah has been instrumental in keeping a better watch on the intrusions by the poachers, especially during the rainy season when the access to western coast becomes difficult. Over the last couple of years, the police department has worked gradually to augment the infrastructure there.
A new Gemini boat has also been provided at Burma (Karen) Nallah to respond to any information of poachers taking shelter in the nearby creek areas. The visit was to boost the morale of the police personnel working dedicatedly with minimal infrastructure.
