A & N Islands Traffic Police has observed during traffic checking that most of the drivers resort to produce photo images or xerox copies of driving license/RC and related documents. In addition, those drivers whose driving license was suspended for certain violations were found driving their vehicles by producing photo images or xerox copy of driving licence. It is difficult to ascertain the genuineness of the documents and makes it difficult to book violators on the spot. In this regard, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has permitted for production of DL/RC & related documents through Digi-Locker and m-Parivahan mobile app besides producing in original.
Traffic Police has requested the general public to produce documents either through Digi-Locker and m-Parivahan mobile app or in original.
It has also been observed by the Traffic Police that many vehicles owners are using dazzling/powerful/colourful/extra bright lights in their vehicles. The section 111 (4) Andaman & Nicobar Motor Vehicle Rule, 2006 prohibits the usage such lights at all times, when the lights of the motor vehicle are in use.
The vehicle drivers/owners have been requested to comply with the above directions to avoid penalty under Motor Vehicle (Amendment) Act, 2019.
