Two India Post Employees Arrested for Ganja Parcel Delivery to Accused Person

In a significant development in the ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, two employees of India Post, identified as S.A. Karthick and D. Wilson David Raj, have been arrested for their alleged involvement in delivering a parcel containing marijuana to the main accused. The arrest were made after investigation was conducted following the seizure of 2.095 Kilograms of marijuana on October 4, 2023 from Mohd. Shabib by a joint team of PS CCS and Narcotics Cell of CID Unit. 

The accused individuals have been identified as S.A. Karthick, aged 40 and resident of Shadipur, and D. Wilson David Raj, aged 27 and resident of Shadipur. Both were apprehended under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act of 1985.

Upon investigation, it was revealed that the postal staff knowingly delivered the parcel containing marijuana to the main suspect, disregarding the actual labeled addressee. This discovery sheds light on a potential nexus between drug traffickers and certain individuals within the postal service.

Andaman and Nicobar Police have been unwavering in their commitment to curbing drug trafficking and bringing those responsible for such offences to justice. The latest arrests signal another step forward in their efforts to combat the drug menace in the region.
