In preparation for the upcoming elections, polling materials for Port Blair and Ferrargunj Tehsils are set to be distributed from Netaji Stadium, Port Blair, on April 18, 2024. The election commission has issued directives outlining the distribution plan, ensuring a smooth and organized process.
According to the instructions, the distribution of polling materials for remote areas will kick off at 4 am, ensuring timely delivery to these vital locations. For Ferrargunj Tehsil, the distribution will commence at 6 am, facilitating the deployment of necessary resources for polling stations in the area. Meanwhile, for Port Blair Tehsil, the distribution is scheduled to start from 8 am onwards.
To streamline the process further, the Returning Officer’s (RO) office will initiate contact with the Presiding Officer and other personnel individually on April 17, ensuring everyone is informed and prepared for their roles on election day.
All concerned individuals have been directed to attend the call from the Control Room of the District Election Officer (DEO) South Andaman and be present at the Distribution Centre as per the specified time schedule on April 18, 2024. It has been emphasised that any lapses will result in severe disciplinary action.
