Eight passengers who recently travelled to Port Blair by air have tested positive for COVID-19 in the test conducted on arrival at Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The active case tally of the Islands currently stands at 20.
Out of the 20 active cases, 19 cases were detected in South Andaman District and 01 case was detected in N & M Andaman District. Nicobar District is currently COVID-19 free.
Five people have also recovered from COVID-19 today in the Islands. On the vaccination front 4,29,830 doses of COVID-19 Vaccines have been administered in Andaman and Nicobar Islands out of which 2,87,442 vaccines administered are first dose vaccination and 1,42,388 vaccine administered are second dose of Vaccination.
The Islands have reported 7615 confirmed cases of COVID-19 from the start of the pandemic out of which 7466 people have recovered and 129 have lost their lives.
