Several countries are sending aid to India to battle the growing number of COVID-19 cases. The aid received is being distributed to different states and Central Govt. Hospitals to ease the pressure of growing number of patients.
100 oxygen concentrators and accessories received from Switzerland is being sent to Andaman and Nicobar Islands by the Central Govt. This medical aid will help in ensuring that A & N Islands can tackle more patients requiring oxygen, in case there is a sudden surge in the number of cases in the future.
A & N Administration had earlier informed that there is no shortage of oxygen as of now in the Island and these new oxygen concentrators will ensure future readiness of our health system to tackle more cases.
The oxygen concentrators can also be utilised in remote areas of the Islands where transporting oxygen cylinders timely may not be possible because of logistical hurdles.Â
