The vaccination drive is continuing and so far a total of 2,921 eligible people in the age group of 18 to 44 years were vaccinated in A&N Islands. As per the data received, altogether, 328 persons in the age group of 18 to 44 years were vaccinated in South Andaman while 61 persons were vaccinated in Car Nicobar today. A total of 410 doses of COVISHIELD vaccines were administered to the eligible beneficiaries by the health teams in South Andaman today, taking the total number of doses of vaccines administered so far to 1,2,211.
Meanwhile, the online registration for the vaccination is being facilitated through CoWIN portal and Aarogya Setu App. Online registration is mandatory and no on-site registration will be done and people has been advised to reach the centres as per the time schedule provided to the beneficiaries through the App. In South Andaman, the vaccination is being administered at JNRM Vaccination Centre between 9.30 am and 12.30 pm. The general public have been requested to follow COVID Appropriate Behaviour while visiting the centre for vaccination.
The vaccination for 45+, who are yet to receive their 1st Dose is also continuing and for them the facility of on-site registration is available. The left over beneficiaries (45+) have been requested to get themselves vaccinated.
