Campbell Bay, 23 June 2021

Dr. Sarika Ratnam & Dr. Ambedkar Dasari also known as the doctor couple of Campbell Bay have been serving the residents with utmost dedication all throughout their tenure. This doctor couple managed the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic very well along with the other healthcare workers. They are still serving the Islanders of Great Nicobar during this second wave of the pandemic. Under their leadership, the health care workers of PHC Campbell Bay are also doing excellent job.

PHC Campbell Bay is the goto hospital for all health care needs of the residents of Campbell Bay. Although Campbell Bay has another PHC located at Gandhi Nagar village but residents often prefer to visit PHC Campbell Bay for their regular checkup as well as for other treatment because of the availability of better facilities.

This doctor couple has been in the forefront of the war against COVID-19 in Great Nicobar. During the first wave of COVID-19 these doctors worked hard with other healthcare workers of Campbell Bay and brought the situation under control.

The general public of Great Nicobar is very happy with the services rendered by these doctors and other healthcare workers. They are helpful and understand the problems of the Islanders of Great Nicobar.

It is very rare that someone who visits the PHC goes back unsatisfied with the treatment rendered by the doctors. They are known to give special care to every patient.

The vaccination drive in Great Nicobar is being conducted under their leadership and the residents of the Islands are getting inoculated without any hassles. The coverage of 45+ vaccination in Great Nicobar is very high and 18+ vaccination began recently and the residents are excited to get themselves inoculated.

Impressive token system for 18+ vaccination has been introduced at PHC Campbell Bay. During the first day of COVID-19 vaccination a young lady that Nicobar Times spoke to, told us that she did not face any issue in getting vaccinated. She added that she walked in, took her token, waited for her turn and got vaccinated.

During the recent vaccination sessions more and more people are turning up at PHC Campbell Bay because of the efforts of the doctors, healthcare workers, front line workers like police, Ex-PRIs and the young leaders of Great Nicobar. The demand for vaccination is only increasing everyday.

Nicobar Times spoke to Mr. E S Rajesh, Ex-Pradhan, Laxmi Nagar Gram Panchayat who spoke highly of the services rendered by the doctor couple of Campbell Bay, Dr. Sarika Ratnam & Dr. Ambedkar Dasari. He informed us that both the doctors are very helpful and they give the best possible treatment to every patient. He further added that these doctors are an asset for the residents of Great Nicobar and their services have helped in saving many lives. He also lauded the services of all healthcare workers of Campbell Bay who are working dedicatedly everyday to serve the Islanders.

Mr. Sandeep Kalyan, Ex-Zilla Parishad Member, Laxmi Nagar informed Nicobar Times that he has called these doctors on their phone several times during the odd hours for treatment of patients and they always attended to the patients personally. He also commented that they are known to consult with specialists and offer the best treatment to the patients. Mr. Sandeep also lauded all healthcare workers of Campbell Bay for their dedication towards their duties.

The doctor couple of Campbell Bay are serving the residents of the Islands with utmost dedication and should be lauded for it. Other healthcare workers of PHC Campbell Bay should also be lauded for their dedication to serve the Islanders even during this challenging times of COVID-19.

It is not easy to cater to the health needs of the population with limited facilities on an isolated Island and these doctors and healthcare workers are continuing to do their best in the interest of the general public of Great Nicobar.
