District Magistrate, South Andaman has announced full lockdown in villages of Hope Town, Shorepoint, Bambooflat, Stewartgunj, Govindapuram, Nayapuram, Wimberlygunj, Kanyapuram, Mannarghat, Malappuram, Wright Mayo and Shoal Bay under Ferrargunj Tehsil with effect from 15/05/2021.
No movement of men and material will be allowed except for emergency cases, medical emergencies, pregnant women and patients availing medical services.
Persons engaged for essential activities for movement of goods on Andaman Trunk Road, loading and unloading of essential cargo and travel of persons to proceed to their destinations will be allowed on production of valid documents for movement in and out of the above mentioned areas.
Officers and officials involved essential and emergency services such as District Administration, Police, Home Guards, Civil Defence, Fire and emergency services, Family Welfare and all related medical establishments. Electricity, water supply and sanitisation, Disaster Management, Forest and related services, private security services, LPG Stores/Godown, Telecommunication, Internet Service Providers, Broadcasting and Cable Services, Cold Storages and Warehouses will be permitted on production of valid identity card to function within the said areas.
The order issued by the District Magistrate shall come into effect from 15th May 2021 and will be effective till 22nd May 2021.
