Healthcare workers posted in BJR Hospital, Car Nicobar who were appointed under the National Health Mission have written a letter to the Chairman, District Health Society explaining the problems being faced by them.

In their letter the healthcare workers have explained that they have not received their salary for a few months and they are facing many problems because of it.

These healthcare workers have also mentioned that they work tirelessly for the general public and they they should receive some benefits like increase in their salaries, HRA, CL and Medical Leaves.

They added that most of the candidates are not willing to serve in Nicobar District because of lower salaries, no TA/DA, minimum EL and Casual Leave, only 3% increment per year, no HRA and No Medical leave.

Healthcare workers in their letter have further mentioned that since they are working at par with the regular healthcare workers they should be paid equal wages.

It is really unfortunate that healthcare workers are not paid on time even during this COVID-19 crises.

It has been reported that these healthcare workers also met the Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District who is also the Chairman of District Health Society and he assured them that their salary will be credited soon.
