Campbell Bay, 23 March 2022
Covid-19 vaccination for those aged between 12-14 years began at PHC Campbell Bay today. The vaccination for the said age group is being carried out with Corbevax.
Corbevax is India’s first indigenously developed RBD-protein subunit vaccine. Unlike any other vaccine, it uses a recombinant protein platform that targets spike protein on the virus. Vaccination for the said age group began countrywide last Wednesday i.e. on 16th March 2022.
The vaccine injects a volume of cloned spike proteins, instead of instructing cells to replicate it. It reduces the virus’ ability to cause any serious disease. Children will be administered with two doses at an interval of 28 days – four weeks after the first dose.
