In a relentless pursuit of combating illegal activities, the Humfrigunj Police achieved a significant breakthrough by intercepting an auto-rickshaw carrying a substantial quantity of venison meat in the Wandoor area. The operation took place on 24th July 2023, following credible information received by the Police Station Humfrigunj.
Upon receiving the tip-off, a swift response team was formed, led by the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Bambooflat, Shri Arshdeep Singh Panwar (DANIPS). The team was spearheaded by SI Gaurav Banerjee, SHO PS Humfrigunj, and comprised dedicated officers including ASI RC Singh, PC/1534 M. Sudarsana Rao, PC/1424 Sanjib Shil, PC/1102 Sankar S Aind, PC/2647 Aurangzeb Ahmed, PC/2915 Sabraj Mohd., PC/2698 Nitesh Baidya, PC/430 Mani Kandan, and PC/2873 Reba Mazumder.
With the information at hand, the team swiftly laid a trap and spotted an auto-rickshaw with registration number AN01 G 5918 near the Government Middle School in Wandoor. Upon closer inspection, the officers discovered four individuals in possession of suspicious venison meat, which weighed a staggering 112.34 kilograms.
The apprehended individuals were identified as follows:
1. Dipankar Sarkar, 35 years old, an auto driver residing in Shadipur.
2. Dinesh Kumar, 36 years old, a private worker residing in New Pahargoan.
3. Sanjit Mondal, 34 years old, residing in Dollygunj.
4. Madhabi Mondal, 43 years old, residing in Dollygunj, near Shiv Mandir.
Following their apprehension, the seized venison, worth an estimated 112.34 kilograms, was confiscated, and the suspects were handed over to the Forest Department for further necessary legal action.
