A 17 year old resident of Cari Basti, Chouldari passed away today after a tree fell on his house due to the inclement weather caused by Cyclone Yaas.
The pictures obtained by Nicobar Times show that the house has completely collapsed after the tree fell on it due to the bad weather and high speed of winds.
Nicobar Times spoke to Mr. Mohan Halder, Ex-Pradhan of Chouldari Gram Panchayat who informed us that the boy was alone in the house and his brother was outside in the verandah. When the tree fell the brother made his way out but the 17 year old Rakesh Singh lost his life due to sustaining injury on his head.
He was reportedly taken to PHC Chouldari but couldn’t be saved.
