213 Grams of Ganja Seized in Dollygunj, One Arrested by PS Pahargaon

In a significant step towards combating drug trafficking in the region, the team of Police Station Pahargaon arrested one individual and seized 213 grams of ganja during a raid conducted in the Dollygunj area.

Acting on a credible tip-off received on April 16, police launched a swift operation near the Supply Godown in Dollygunj. The information indicated that a man, identified as Munia Swamy, had recently brought illicit ganja from Chennai and was seeking buyers in the area.

A raiding team was immediately constituted, comprising SI P. Jeevan, PSI A. Santhosh, and constables Deepankar Mondal, Uday Kullu, Mohini, and Naw Sa Say. The operation was carried out under the supervision of ASP Shruti S. Yaragatti, SHO of PS Pahargaon.

During the raid, police apprehended Munia Swamy, 24, son of Algar Swamy, a resident of Dollygunj. A total of 213 grams of ganja was recovered from his possession. The contraband was seized following all legal procedures, and the accused was taken into custody.

The operation was conducted under the close supervision of Mr. Vikas Swami, IPS, SDPO (South Andaman), and the overall direction of Mr. Manoj Kumar Meena, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.

Authorities have reiterated their appeal to the public to report any information related to crime or illegal activities by contacting the police through 112, 03192-232100, or 03192-236641. The identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential.
