South Andaman District Police is committed to a zero-tolerance policy against bootlegging, illicit handia and drug peddling. To ensure that bootleggers, illicit liquor sellers and drug peddlers do not indulge in any illegal activity, a close vigil has been kept over the offenders and multiple raids have been conducted in various parts of the District.
During the period from 01/03/2022 to 06/04/2022, a total of 31 excise cases have been registered in South Andaman District and 146 litres of IMFL, 25 Kg of Handia have been seized. Also, 02 NDPS cases have been registered and 130 grams of Methamphetamine & 06 Nos. of Cannabis plant weighing 235 grams have been seized. Apart from this, jungle searches are also being carried out to keep a check on illicit trade.
The tireless and sincere efforts of the South Andaman District Police team has succeeded in putting a hold on illegal activities. South Andaman District Police is committed to take stern action against bootleggers & illicit liquor sellers and has mounted strict surveillance. The general public has been requested to share information about any crime or other illegal activities to Police at 100, 112 & 03192-233077. South Andaman Police through a press release informed that the identity of the informant will be kept secret.
