A mass joining programme was held at Gandhi Bhavan (Congress State Headquarters) in Sri Vijaya Puram under the leadership of Mr. O. Basheer, former Pradhan of Mannarghat.
The event took place in the presence of Mr. Rangalal Halder, president of the Andaman and Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC), and Mr. TSG Bhasker, chairman of the ANTCC Campaign Committee. Around 32 new members joined the Congress during the programme, signalling their support for the party.
Halder and Bhasker welcomed the new entrants and assured them of the party’s support and cooperation in efforts aimed at public welfare and regional development.
The programme was attended by Zubaida Begum, State President of the Mahila Congress; AUT Ummer, Zilla Parishad Member; Mohd. Zubair, President of City Congress; Abdul Shabir, ANTCC Treasurer; Diksha Dular, President of the Youth Congress; M.A. Sajid, Vice-President of the Youth Congress; John Robert, District President; Mahila Congress leaders M. Bindu and Fathima Imtiaz; Congress leaders Sadab Riaz (Sunny) and Xavier; PRI members K. Asnath and Rasheeda Banu; Seva Dal joint secretary Akshay; and several other party functionaries.
