34 Women Complete Fast Food Udyami Training at SBI-RSETI in Sri Vijaya Puram

The State Bank of India Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI), Sri Vijaya Puram, successfully organised a 12-day Fast Food Stall Udyami course, with 34 unemployed women from different parts of the city undergoing skill development training.

The valedictory function was attended by the President of the Andaman Nicobar Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ANCCI), Dr. K. Chandrasekharan, as the chief guest. Addressing the trainees, he commended the women for stepping forward to acquire entrepreneurial skills and successfully completing the course. Assuring support from ANCCI, he encouraged them to pursue self-employment ventures with confidence.

Mr. P. K. Ummer Farooq, Chief Manager, UTLBC, A&N Islands, also addressed the gathering and congratulated the trainees for choosing the fast food trade as a means of income generation. He advised those residing in municipal areas to register themselves as street vendors with the Sri Vijaya Puram Municipal Council (SVPMC) to avail benefits under the PM SVANidhi scheme.

Earlier, welcoming the guests, Mr. C. Raj, Director of SBI-RSETI, informed that the participants were trained in preparing around 36 fast food items during the programme. In addition to technical skills, they were also sensitised to various Government of India social security schemes, banking deposit and loan facilities, and precautions against cyber fraud.

The programme concluded with the distribution of certificates to the trainees by the chief guest and other dignitaries. The vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. S. Kaliswaran, faculty member of the institute.
