35 Staff of Forest Department Trained on Wireless Communication Network Operations and Maintenance

A two-day training programme on Operations and Maintenance of Wireless Communication Network was conducted at the Government Saw Mill, Chatham, aiming to strengthen communication efficiency within the Department of Environment and Forests, A&N Islands.

The training was inaugurated by Dr. Anil Kumar, IFS, Chief Conservator of Forests (Development and Utilization). In his inaugural address, Dr. Kumar highlighted the vital role of wireless communication in ensuring seamless coordination across the Islands, particularly in forestry operations, protection activities, and as an essential component of the National Emergency Response System.

Around 35 executive and frontline staff, including Deputy Rangers, Foresters, Head Forest Guards, and Forest Guards from various divisions, participated in the training. The programme is expected to enhance the operational reliability of the wireless network across the Islands, ensuring uninterrupted communication support for field activities and emergency situations.
