A 39 Meter Long Malta Flag Yacht ‘ANOENIX’ on 9th May 2023, took shelter at Campbell Bay Port Area to stay safe during the ongoing Cyclone Mocha.
The yacht reportedly has ten people onboard. 09 crew members onboard are from the Philippines and the one passenger onboard is from Maldives.
The last Port of Call for the Yacht was in Indonesia.
Great Nicobar is located just above a major shipping lane and very often Yachts and pleasure crafts call on the port at Great Nicobar due to emergencies or in case of adverse sea conditions.
The yacht has been anchored in the port area at Campbell Bay and a Joint Interrogation team of various agencies was due to conduct an interrogation onboard the yacht today.
