In a simple function organized at Community Hall, Campbell Bay, 50 Beneficiaries were issued new Priority Household Ration cards. Hundreds of beneficiaries in Great Nicobar have applied to convert their APL Ration cards to PHH Ration cards. They have been waiting for a long time for the Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs to issue them their new PHH Ration Cards.
PRI Members of Great Nicobar have also been demanding the issue of PHH Ration Cards to the eligible beneficiaries. PRI Members met several authorities at Port Blair and also took up the issue with the Assistant Commissioner, Campbell Bay.
Finally, PHH Ration Cards of 50 beneficiaries were issued to them on 24th March 2023.
The ration cards were issued to the beneficiaries in the presence of Assistant Commissioner, Campbell Bay, BDO, Campbell Bay, Mr. Venkat Rao, Pradhan, GP Govind Nagar, Mr. Prahlad Singh, Pradhan, GP Laxmi Nagar and Mrs. Rameshwari, Pradhan, GP Campbell Bay.
Mr. Venkat Rao informed Nicobar Times that the PRIs have also requested the department to expedite the issue of PHH Cards to the left-out beneficiaries.
