The 5th Finance Commission to the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, led by Chairman Mr. Anil Kumar Jha, will arrive on a five-day visit to the Islands on February 9, 2025.
During the visit, the Commission will hold a series of meetings and site visits. On February 10, it will meet with members of the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) and visit departmental sites at Swaraj Dweep.
The following day, February 11, the Commission will hold another meeting with PRIs at Shaheed Dweep.
On February 13, the Commission will convene a meeting with the Chairperson of the South Andaman Zilla Parishad & Municipal Council (SVPMC), Secretary (SVPMC), Secretary (Urban Development), and councilors at the SVPMC Conference Hall. In the afternoon, the Commission will meet with the Chief Secretary and senior officers of the Andaman and Nicobar Administration at the Secretariat’s Conference Hall.
The 5th Finance Commission is scheduled to conclude its visit and return to the mainland on February 14, 2025.
