74th Batch of Recruit Police Constables Completes Training at Police Training School in Prothrapur

The Police Training School (PTS), Prothrapur, marked a significant milestone with the Passing Out Parade of the 74th Batch of Recruit Police Constables (Executive) on Saturday. A total of 248 trainees successfully completed their rigorous training and are now prepared to serve the Andaman & Nicobar Islands with dedication, professionalism, and integrity.

The grand ceremony, held at the PTS Parade Ground, was attended by senior officers of the Andaman & Nicobar Police, retired police personnel, and the proud families of the recruits. The event was a testament to the transformative journey undertaken by the young constables as they stepped into their new roles as guardians of law and order.

Director General of Police (DGP) Mr. Hargobinder Singh Dhaliwal, IPS, presided over the event as the Chief Guest. He inspected the parade, took the ceremonial salute, and commended the recruits for their discipline, precision, and commitment. In his address, Mr. Dhaliwal highlighted the evolving challenges of modern policing and the critical role of the new constables in upholding the rule of law. He also emphasized the importance of the recently enacted criminal laws, effective from July 1, 2024, and urged the recruits to serve the community in a manner that fosters public trust and confidence.

The oath of service was administered by Mr. Uma Shankar, DANIPS, Principal of the Police Training School, in the presence of the Chief Guest and Ms. Sindhu Pillai. A, IPS, Inspector General of Police (Law & Order/Training). The ceremony underscored the commitment of the recruits to serve with honor and integrity.

Adding to the occasion, Dr. Dharmesh Kumar Prajapati, Registrar, Rashtriya Raksha University, Ministry of Home Affairs, and Mr. Aaditya Purohit, Research Officer, Vice Chancellor’s Office, Rashtriya Raksha University, participated in the event. They administered the Rashtriya Raksha University oath and conferred Degree/Diploma certificates to the trainees, recognizing their academic and professional achievements.

Outstanding performers among the recruits were honoured for their excellence in various training aspects. The following individuals received Commendation Certificates, Trophies, and Cash Rewards from the Director General of Police, Andaman & Nicobar Islands:

RPC/60 M. Jeevan Rao: All-Round Best, 2nd Position in Indoor, and Best in UAC

– RPC/75 E. Manisha: Best in Indoor

– RPC/95 A.B. Nitin: Best in Outdoor

– RPC/307 K. Okesh Rao: Best in Firing

– RPC/1167 R. Deepak: Best in Drill

– RPC/211 B. Bharadwaj: Best in Computer

The Passing Out Parade concluded with the newly inducted constables marching off the parade ground, ready to embark on their journey of service and duty. The event not only celebrated their achievements but also reaffirmed the Andaman & Nicobar Police’s commitment to excellence in law enforcement.

The Police Training School, Prothrapur, continues to play a vital role in shaping the future of policing in the region.
