The 7th Civil Accounts Day was marked by grand celebrations at the TGCE Auditorium, showcasing the pivotal role of the Civil Accounts Service in ensuring transparency and efficiency in financial governance.
The event was led by Mr. S. Das Gupta, Director of Accounts & Budget, Chief Pay and Accounts Office, Sri Vijaya Puram. It was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Aman Gupta, IAS, Secretary (Finance), and Guest of Honour Mr. Arjun Sharma, IAS, Deputy Commissioner (South Andaman).
The program began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing enlightenment and progress. In his welcome address, Mr. Das Gupta reflected on the significance of Civil Accounts Day and the evolution of the service over the years.
Chief Guest Dr. Aman Gupta, in his keynote speech, lauded the cadre for their critical contributions to the administrative framework. He praised the thoughtful organisation of the event, which fostered camaraderie among staff members and their families. Dr. Gupta also highlighted the cadre’s dedication to societal welfare, citing their initiative in organising a blood donation camp. Furthermore, he commended the success of a workshop on “Procurement Challenges and Way Forward,” emphasising its practical importance.
Guest of Honour Mr. Arjun Sharma acknowledged the indispensable role of the Civil Accounts cadre in the Andaman and Nicobar Administration. His remarks underscored the administration’s appreciation for the cadre’s commitment to excellence.
The celebration was preceded by a month-long series of activities organised by the Staff Council, engaging employees, their families, and children. Events such as cricket, badminton, table tennis, musical chairs, carrom, chess, drawing competitions, and quizzes fostered a spirit of unity and competition. Winners were awarded certificates and trophies during the event, adding a celebratory note to the occasion.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Shadab Rasheed, Vice President of the Staff Council. He expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, participants, and organisers for their collective efforts in making the 7th Civil Accounts Day a memorable and successful event.
