The 8th Review Meeting under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan for South Andaman District was held on 17 November 2025 at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Arjun Sharma, IAS, Deputy Commissioner (South Andaman).
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the district’s progress in key TB elimination parameters, including case detection, notification, treatment adherence, Ni-kshay Mitra adoption and community participation. He expressed concern over the low percentage of X-ray-based screening in several health facilities and directed officials to urgently scale up the activity. He stressed that X-ray screening is among the most effective measures for early TB detection, especially among symptomatic and high-risk groups.
The meeting was attended by the Joint Secretary (NTEP), Microbiologist, District TB Officer, Chief Medical Officer, Medical Officers in charge of CHCs/PHCs/UHCs of South Andaman District, and officials and staff of the District Health Society.
The Deputy Commissioner also urged the public to make use of the free X-ray screening camps being conducted at the community level on the following dates and locations:
- 18 November 2025: Anganwadi Centre, Macca Pahad; AAM Hope Town; AAM Shore Point
- 19 November 2025: Community Hall, Lal Pahad; Anganwadi Centre, Brookshabad-1
