A & N Islands Records 8th Lowest Voter Turnout at 63.99% in 1st Phase of Lok Sabha Elections – 2024; Lakshadweep Tops with 84.16%

In the First Phase of the Lok Sabha Elections – 2024, held on April 19, 2024, the singular Lok Sabha seat in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands witnessed a voter turnout of 63.99%. The Election Commission of India conducted polls across 102 seats spanning 21 States and Union Territories.

Despite being one of the crucial electoral events, the turnout in Andaman and Nicobar Islands ranked as the 8th lowest among all 21 States/Union Territories in the 1st Phase of Lok Sabha Elections – 2024. However, the Union Territory of Lakshadweep emerged as the leader in voter turnout, boasting a remarkable turnout of 84.16%.

Among the states and Union Territories that went to the polls in the first phase, Bihar marked the lowest voter participation, with only 49.26% turnout. Conversely, Lakshadweep showcased the highest enthusiasm for democratic participation, setting a notable benchmark for civic engagement.
