The A & N Administration, in response to cyclonic weather disrupting travel from the Southern Group of Islands, has announced revised arrangements for the verification of documents/testimonials and Trade/Skill Tests for vacancies in the Common Category of Group C Matric Level posts across various departments for candidates from Southern Group of Islands.

Candidates were summoned to attend these crucial Trade/Skill Tests at Port Blair as per a Press Release in the Daily Telegrams dated November 22, 2023.

However, Deputy Commissioner, Car Nicobar, and Assistant Commissioner, Campbell Bay, have raised concerns about the unavailability of ships due to the ongoing adverse weather conditions, affecting the shortlisted candidates’ ability to reach Port Blair as per the stipulated schedule.

In light of these unforeseen circumstances, a directive has been issued for the shortlisted candidates from the Southern Group of Islands to endeavour to reach Port Blair at their earliest convenience by availing the first available ship.

Upon arrival, candidates from the Southern Group of Islands are instructed to undergo document/testimonial verification at the Recruitment & Examination Cell, Secretariat. Subsequently, eligible candidates will be summoned for the Trade/Skill Tests. During this period, candidates are requested to remain in Port Blair until the completion of the examination process.

Further details regarding the Trade/Skill Tests will be communicated through the Daily Telegrams and posted on the A & N Administration website in due course.

The A & N Administration reassures its commitment to ensuring a smooth, free, and fair conduct of the examination, despite the challenges posed by the inclement weather conditions impacting transportation to Port Blair from the Southern Group of Islands.
