In a move to enhance industrial development in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the Directorate of Industries, A&N Administration, has established Industrial Estates across the region, offering industrial land and plots equipped with basic amenities for entrepreneurs and enterprises. Currently, six Industrial Estates are operational at Dollygunj, Garacharama, Mithakhari, Hutbay, Bakultala, and Campbell Bay. The Administration has expressed the possibility of setting up additional estates based on future demand and requirements.
To ensure transparency and efficiency in the allotment of plots within these estates and to streamline the management of existing allocations, the A&N Administration is proposing a new policy titled ‘Andaman and Nicobar Islands Industrial Estate (Allotment & Management) Policy, 2024’.
A draft of the proposed policy is now available for public review and can be downloaded from the Administration’s State Portal at https://andaman.gov.in.
The Administration is seeking comments and suggestions from the general public, stakeholders, entrepreneurs, and members of the Andaman Chamber of Commerce and Industries. Feedback on the various provisions of the draft policy is invited within 30 days, with the deadline set for July 8, 2024. Submissions should follow the specified format provided below.
