In a remarkable achievement, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands have secured the No.1 Rank (93.97%) among Union Territories and secured the top 7th Rank among the CAS States/UTs in the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) PRAGATI Dashboard of the National Crime Records Bureau, New Delhi for the month of July 2023.
The CCTNS, a flagship project of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), is being closely monitored by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India and the MHA through the PRAGATI Dashboard on a monthly basis.
The CCTNS PRAGATI Dashboard is a crucial tool for tracking and managing crime data across the nation, reflecting the performance, commitment, progressive growth, and efficiency of States and Union Territories in implementing and managing crime prevention and detection measures. The consistent efforts of the Andaman and Nicobar Police have resulted in this outstanding accomplishment.
The National Crime Records Bureau’s (NCRB) CCTNS PRAGATI Dashboard evaluates several key performance indicators, including the deployment of CCTNS Software, connectivity at all Police Stations, the percentage of FIRs registered through CCTNS Software, Inter-operable Criminal Justice System (ICJS) Integration & searches, usage of the National Automated Fingerprint Identification System (NAFIS), and real-time data replication with the National Data Centre (NDC).
The top rank secured by the Andaman and Nicobar Islands reflects the commitment and dedication of the A&N Police in adopting the latest available technology and tools to ensure the safety and security of the people of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
