In a bid to foster a burgeoning sports culture across the serene archipelago of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, the Andaman & Nicobar Police has unveiled plans to host the inaugural DGP Cup A & N State Open Chess Tournament 2024. The tournament, slated to take place in collaboration with the Andaman Nicobar Chess Association (ANCA), is scheduled for the 11th and 12th of May 2024 at the Armed Police Unit, Police Line.
Aligned with the globally recognized FIDE Chess Regulations and employing the Swiss System format, the tournament exclusively welcomes participants hailing from the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. A prerequisite for entry is the registration with the All India Chess Federation (AICF) for the year 2024-25. Aspiring contenders are required to remit an entry fee of Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred only) for participation in the event.

For individuals encountering difficulty with online submissions, offline entries can be submitted at the ANCA Office, located at Dairy Farm, Port Blair. The deadline for registration stands at 09/05/2024 (up to 1500 hrs).
