The Andaman and Nicobar Islands Police took a significant stride in fortifying its cybercrime combat capabilities with a dedicated Cyber Awareness Session held on Thursday as part of the ongoing ‘Cyber Guruvar’ initiative by the Cyber Cell.
The comprehensive training, held in hybrid mode, witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers across various ranks, ranging from constables to Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySP). The initiative aimed to familiarise officers with the use of Law Enforcement portals employed by the A&N Police in their daily operations.
The session, a blend of presentations, interactive discussions, and hands-on activities, focused on enhancing officers’ knowledge and expertise in countering cyber-related financial fraud. Participants delved into the intricacies of various types of financial crimes and honed their investigation techniques to better combat the evolving landscape of cyber-related financial offences.
This isn’t the first such initiative taken by the A & N Police. In earlier training sessions, senior officers benefited from lectures delivered by experts from the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). These sessions were instrumental in keeping the police force abreast of the latest cybercrime trends and preventive measures.
