In its ongoing commitment to promoting cyber awareness and digital literacy, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Police organized the 15th session of the Cyber Guru-Vaar initiative on Thursday. The focus of this session was on familiarizing officers from the rank of Constable to Inspectors with the “National Government Services Portal” (https://services.india.gov.in).

The initiative, spearheaded by the Cyber Crime Police Station, A&N Islands, aims to equip law enforcement officials with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate and understand the intricacies of online platforms. The session witnessed active participation from officers across various ranks within the A&N Police.

The National Government Services Portal, part of the India Portal project overseen by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), serves as a transformative platform designed to streamline and enhance citizen-centric services. With approximately 13,597 online services, the portal covers diverse sectors, including Education and Learning, Health and Wellness, Money and Taxes, Jobs, and more.

The training highlighted the portal’s intuitive interface, ensuring ease of access and searchability. The goal is to empower citizens to navigate through various categories seamlessly and avail themselves of the services they require. The move towards a digital ecosystem is expected to unlock a more efficient and accessible public service experience for individuals across the Islands.

Encouraging citizens to embrace the National Government Services Portal, the A&N Police emphasized the potential of fostering a more connected, informed, and empowered society. The session concluded with a call for collective participation in the journey towards a digitally inclusive future.
