The Andaman and Nicobar Islands Police organised a Cyber Awareness Session on the Investigation of Financial Fraud & Cyber Crime on Thursday, as part of their ‘Cyber Guruvar’ initiative, aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of law enforcement officers in tackling cyber-related financial crimes. The session, conducted in a hybrid mode, was attended by officers ranging from constables to Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySP).

The comprehensive training session, hosted at the Cyber Cell, brought together A&N Police officers for a day of presentations, interactive discussions, and hands-on activities. The primary objective of the event was to empower law enforcement officers with the necessary knowledge and expertise required to effectively combat cyber-related financial fraud.

During the session, officers received valuable insights into various types of financial crimes, including cyber fraud, and learned advanced investigation techniques. The training aimed to bolster their ability to investigate and respond to cyber-related financial crimes effectively.

This wasn’t the first such initiative by the A&N Police. Two earlier training sessions were conducted with senior officers of the A&N Police, during which experts from the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) delivered lectures. These sessions acquainted senior officers with ongoing cybercrime trends and the preventive measures associated with them.

For individuals seeking assistance, information, or inquiries related to cybercrime, the Cyber Cell in Port Blair has provided a dedicated Cyber Helpline, reachable at 9531856083. Additionally, more information can be found on their website at cybercrime.gov.in.
