In a bid to combat the scourge of drug abuse, the Andaman and Nicobar Police have launched a unique initiative that involves affixing anti-drug awareness stickers on LPG cylinders distributed throughout the community. Spearheaded by the Anti-Narcotics Police Station, this groundbreaking campaign aims to educate the public about the dangers associated with substance misuse.
The initiative capitalises on the widespread use of LPG cylinders in households, ensuring that the anti-drug message reaches a broad audience. The stickers prominently display messages urging individuals to steer clear of drugs and maintain a drug-free lifestyle. Additionally, they provide contact information for reporting drug-related concerns or seeking assistance, further empowering the community in the fight against drug abuse.
By leveraging the ubiquitous presence of LPG cylinders, the campaign seeks to foster enduring awareness about the issue of drug abuse. It serves as a constant reminder to households and individuals, reinforcing the importance of staying away from illicit substances.
Members of the public are encouraged to report any credible information regarding the sale or possession of drugs, as well as any other illegal activities, through designated telephone numbers – 100/112, 9531856080, and 9434299028. Informers can rest assured that their identity will be kept confidential, and they may be rewarded for their cooperation.
This innovative anti-drug awareness campaign reflects the Andaman and Nicobar Police’s commitment to tackling drug abuse and safeguarding the well-being of the community. Through collaborative efforts and innovative approaches, they aim to create a safer and drug-free environment for all residents.
