In a spirited celebration of the International Day of Yoga, the Andaman Association of Tour Operators (AATO), in collaboration with India Tourism, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, organised a vibrant yoga session at Swaraj Dweep on 21st June 2025.

Originally scheduled at the iconic Radhanagar Beach, the venue was shifted to Taj Exotica Resort & Spa due to persistent rainfall. The change in location, however, did little to dampen the enthusiasm of participants.

More than 100 tourism stakeholders—including tour operators, hoteliers, lifeguards, and officials from the tourism department—actively participated in the event. A notable highlight was the presence of 31 travel agents from India and abroad, currently on a familiarisation tour of the islands. Their participation underscored the growing appeal of the Andaman Islands as a destination for wellness and sustainable travel.

Members of AATO, led by President Mr. M. Vinod, took part in large numbers, reaffirming the association’s commitment to promoting holistic and eco-friendly tourism practices in the islands.

Mr. Vel Murugan, Assistant Director, India Tourism, lauded the efforts of AATO, the Taj Exotica Resort & Spa team, and all local stakeholders for their prompt cooperation and support in ensuring the success of the event despite the adverse weather conditions.

AATO extended its gratitude to all members and partners who contributed to the celebration, reiterating its dedication to positioning the Andaman Islands as a hub for wellness, sustainability, and transformative travel experiences.
