AATO Honours Women Achievers on International Women’s Day

The Andaman Association of Tour Operators (AATO), under the leadership of its President, Mr. M. Vinod, celebrated International Women’s Day with grandeur at the ZSI Auditorium, Haddo. The event aimed to recognise and honour women who have made significant contributions to the tourism industry in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The program commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by dignitaries, followed by a welcome address by Mr. M. Vinod. The event was graced by distinguished speakers, including Dr. Rasheeda Iqbal, Advocate Suparna Biswas, Dr. Nazia Rasheeda, and Miss Samhita Veda Acharya, who delivered inspiring talks on their respective fields, motivating women entrepreneurs in attendance.

AATO took the opportunity to felicitate several women achievers from diverse segments of the tourism sector. Among the awardees were professionals from water sports, lifeguards, kayaking instructors, auto drivers, dive instructors, tourist guides from Chatham, driving school instructors, hoteliers, and jetty operations staff. Their dedication and perseverance were acknowledged as instrumental in enhancing the tourism landscape of the islands.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. M. Vinod congratulated the awardees and extended his best wishes for their future endeavours. He also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the esteemed speakers for their valuable insights and encouragement.

Additionally, Mr. Vinod acknowledged the support of Dr. C. Siva Peruman, Director of ZSI, and his team for their assistance in making the event a resounding success.

The event was smoothly coordinated, with Ms. Sunita Sarkar, a member of AATO, serving as the anchor, while Ms. Amrita, another AATO member, delivered the vote of thanks.
