The Andaman Association of Tour Operators (AATO) successfully conducted its Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) at Eden Resort, Kamraj Nagar, with over 100 members from the tourism industry in attendance.
Dr. Chandrasekhar, President of the Andaman & Nicobar Chamber of Commerce, graced the event as the Chief Guest, while Mr. Mohd. Jadwet, Chapter Chairman of the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) and Director of Makruzz, attended as the Guest of Honour.
The meeting commenced with a solemn two-minute silence in remembrance of individuals who had significantly contributed to the tourism sector. AATO General Secretary Mr. K. Hamza then delivered the welcome address, expressing gratitude to members for their continued support and participation.
AATO President Mr. M. Vinod, in his Presidential Address, reflected on the association’s journey, key achievements, and future goals. He underscored AATO’s commitment to responsible and sustainable tourism while advocating policies to enhance the industry’s growth in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
Both the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour lauded AATO for its leadership and dedication in fostering collaboration among tourism stakeholders and creating new avenues for industry development.
The evening featured cultural and wellness sessions, including a mesmerizing flute and saxophone performance by renowned island musician Mr. Surjit. Additionally, a happiness session by mindfulness coach Samhita Veda Acharya (Koyal) engaged attendees in well-being exercises.
AATO also honored its members with mementoes, recognizing their invaluable contributions to the tourism industry. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. P.S. Vijayan, who acknowledged the efforts of all dignitaries, members, and organizers in making the AGM a resounding success.
The AGM 2025 reinforced AATO’s dedication to strengthening the Andaman tourism sector and its role as a pivotal industry body.
