AATO President Demands Relief for Damage Caused by Cyclone Yaas

Mr. M. Vinod, President, Andaman Association of Tour Operators has written a letter to the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and the Chief Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Islands requesting them to provide relief in form of direct cash transfer to tourism industry  stakeholders who have incurred damages to their properties due to Cyclone Yaas.

Mr. M Vinod in his letter has thanked the dignitaries for their selfless service for the Islands. He mentioned that because of their able leadership the Islands are safe from COVID-19 pandemic to a great extent.

He further mentioned that Cyclone Yaas has caused damage to the boats anchored at the harbour in Junglighat as well as boat ticket counters at Water Sports Complex. He also wrote about the damage caused to dive shops and other small shops at North Bay. He informed the authorities that the financial implication of the damages are substantial.

He requested the authorities to provide relief in form of direct cash transfer to the affected tourism industry stakeholders.
