The newly constructed road connecting Chunna Bhatta to North Bay was formally inaugurated recently, marking a significant step in improving connectivity to one of South Andaman’s most popular tourist destinations. The route, now open to the public, offers a scenic drive and is expected to boost local tourism.
A delegation from the Andaman Association of Tour Operators (AATO), led by its President Mr. M. Vinod, visited North Bay Island via the newly built road on 1st May 2025. Mr. Vinod expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Andaman and Nicobar Administration and the Andaman Public Works Department (APWD) for their efforts in executing the project.
“This road is not just a piece of infrastructure—it’s a gateway to new tourism opportunities,” said Mr. Vinod. “It will significantly enhance the travel experience for visitors and open up new avenues for eco-tourism and nature-based activities in the region.”
He lauded the Administration’s commitment to sustainable development and its continued focus on enhancing infrastructure to support the tourism industry.
The new road is expected to provide a safer, more comfortable route to North Bay while preserving the area’s natural beauty, further positioning it as a key attraction in the islands.
