Mr. M. Vinod, President of the Andaman Association of Tour Operators (AATO), is currently participating in a Familiarisation (FAM) Tour to Sri Lanka from May 14 to May 20, 2025. The tour has been organised jointly by Sri Lanka Tourism and the Association of Buddhist Tour Operators (ABTO).
The week-long initiative is designed to promote cross-border tourism collaboration and offer Indian tourism stakeholders a firsthand experience of Sri Lanka’s diverse attractions, hospitality infrastructure, and cultural heritage. Participants are being taken through key destinations, iconic landmarks, and tourism development projects across the island nation.
Expressing his appreciation, Mr. Vinod thanked ABTO for nominating him and acknowledged Sri Lanka Tourism for their exceptional hospitality and thoughtfully curated itinerary. He emphasised the potential of fostering stronger tourism ties between island destinations like the Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Sri Lanka.
The FAM tour is expected to pave the way for greater cooperation between tourism bodies in India and Sri Lanka, encouraging mutual growth and the promotion of responsible travel practices across the region.
