Aberdeen Police Arrests Key Suspect in ₹10 Lakh Land Fraud Case

In a major breakthrough, the Aberdeen Police have apprehended a key suspect involved in a ₹10 lakh land fraud case. The accused, a civil contractor from Phoenix Bay, was traced to Palakkad, Kerala, and arrested following a swift and coordinated effort by the police.

The case was registered at PS Aberdeen on December 5, 2024, after a complaint was lodged regarding the fraudulent sale of land in Dollygunj. The complainant was deceived by the accused, who used forged documents to finalize the sale and extracted ₹10 lakh as an advance payment.

During interrogation, the prime accused confessed to executing the fraudulent transaction with the help of a female accomplice from Old Pahargaon Village. The woman impersonated the landowner during the notarization of the sale agreement with another victim. Further investigation revealed that the female accomplice had forged key documents, including the complainant’s Aadhaar card and photograph, to facilitate the fraudulent deal. The total sale agreement was valued at ₹25 lakh, out of which the accused managed to collect ₹10 lakh, which was later shared between them.

Following his arrest, the prime accused was remanded to judicial custody on March 20, 2025. The investigation is ongoing.

The entire operation was led by Inspector Vishal Ram, SHO PS Aberdeen, under the supervision of Mr. Vikas Swami, IPS, SDPO South Andaman.

The police have urged the public to exercise caution and verify all documents thoroughly before entering into property agreements. They also advised people to remain vigilant while sharing personal documents and report any suspicious activities to the police.
