Aberdeen Police Cracks Down on Illegal Sale of Alcohol Without Peg System from Bar in Delanipur

Acting on a tip-off, Aberdeen Police conducted a raid at a bar and restaurant in Delanipur Junction on August 23, uncovering large-scale violations of bar license conditions.

During the raid, a customer was caught leaving the premises with six sealed bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL). Upon questioning, he admitted to having purchased them directly from the bar counter. CCTV footage further confirmed the illegal sale of sealed bottles, which is prohibited under bar license rules.

Following this, the police seized 250 bottles of 750 ml IMFL, 134 bottles of 375 ml, 620 bottles of 180 ml, and 220 beer bottles from the bar and its adjoining godown. Legal action has been initiated against both the purchaser and the bar manager.

A case has been registered against Pandi Raja (38), a resident of Mohanpura, who was caught with the liquor bottles, and Johnson David (63), Bar Manager and resident of Buniyadabad, under relevant sections of law.

The raid was carried out by a team led by Insp. Vishal Ram, SHO, PS Aberdeen, along with SI Samiran Mridha, HC Sunil Singh Yadav, and constables Jagdish Babu, K. Jayraj, Surender, and Rafique. The operation was supervised by Mr. Ajay Kumar Rai, DANIIPS, SDPO South Andaman.

The South Andaman District Police has reiterated its commitment to act strictly against illegal activities and appealed to the public to share information related to crimes at helpline numbers 112, 03192-232100, 236641, and 232400. The identity of informants will be kept confidential.
