Community members and parents have drawn attention to various challenges being faced by students at PM SHRI Government Senior Secondary School, Bambooflat, urging authorities to take constructive steps to improve the institution’s overall environment and learning outcomes.

In a representation submitted to the Director of Education, Mr. Abhi Bhusan Ghosh, President of the Block Congress Committee, Bambooflat, highlighted several areas of concern brought forward by local residents. The letter emphasizes the need for strengthening discipline, upgrading teaching quality, improving infrastructure, and introducing new academic streams to meet the evolving educational needs of students.

One of the key concerns shared was the need for enhanced supervision and discipline to ensure a more conducive learning atmosphere.

The representation also touches upon the importance of qualified and engaging teachers, particularly in subjects like English and Physical Education. There is a growing demand among parents for more effective classroom engagement and communication by faculty members to help students grasp subjects with greater clarity.

The letter further suggests that stronger leadership at the administrative level could help bridge communication gaps between school authorities and parents, while promoting both academic and extracurricular development.

Another significant issue highlighted was the continued reliance on virtual learning even after the pandemic. Given that many students at the school come from economically weaker backgrounds, access to devices and reliable internet connectivity remains a barrier.

Additionally, the demand to introduce the Science stream at the senior secondary level has gained momentum. “The demand for science education is increasing, and many students are interested in pursuing careers in science. But due to non availability of science stream the interested students are forced to travel long distances to get admission.,” the letter states, urging the Directorate to consider this as a priority for future academic planning.

Concerns about basic amenities like water supply, both for drinking and sanitation, were also mentioned.

Mr. Abhi Bhusan Ghosh, has expressed confidence that with timely intervention by the Education Department, the school can overcome these challenges and provide a more enriching learning experience for students.
