The karyakartas of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Andaman and Nicobar Islands, had the proud privilege of meeting the legendary athlete and President of the Indian Olympic Association, Padma Shri P.T. Usha, popularly known as the “Queen of Indian Track and Field,” in Sri Vijaya Puram.

It was a moment of immense pride and inspiration for the ABVP team to interact with the iconic sportsperson, fondly called the “Payyoli Express.” P.T. Usha, the first woman to lead the Indian Olympic Association, has long been a symbol of excellence and perseverance in Indian athletics.

During the interaction, the karyakartas expressed their admiration for her remarkable journey — from her humble beginnings in Kerala to becoming one of India’s most celebrated athletes and a trailblazer in sports administration.

P.T. Usha’s achievements, including representing India in multiple Olympic Games and winning numerous gold and silver medals at the Asian Games, continue to inspire generations of young Indians to pursue their dreams with discipline and determination.
